Ben Silverman is a software developer interested in projects that facilitate research and scholarship across a wide range of disciplines. He graduated in 2018 from Brown University with a BA in Music, concentrating in Computer Music and Multimedia. His undergraduate thesis there was an ethnography about music pirates, leading him into the field of media studies. Ben then earned a MS in Comparative Media Studies from MIT in 2020. While at MIT, as a research assistant, he began developing projects such as a web application for collaborative annotation, and a web application for contextualizing archival materials in the field of international studies. These projects have led Ben to the PNL to help contribute to projects involving software development and data processing/analysis.
