Yang received his PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Science and Technology of China in Dec. 2018. His doctoral research was on Diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) and Chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI. After completing his PhD degree, Yang joined the ultrashort echo time (UTE) imaging group in UCSD led by Dr. Jiang Du as a Postdoc, focusing on UTE-CEST MRI technique development. Yang joined the Psychiatry Neuroimaging Laboratory in Sept. 2019 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working with Dr. Lipeng Ning. His research focuses on development of novel diffusion MRI acquisition and modeling and their application in mental disorders.
