Assistant Professor; Department of Psychiatry; Brigham and Women’s Hospital; HMS
Research
Suheyla develops new solutions to diffusion MRI data harmonization problems to enable the study of the human brain’s microstructure and connectivity in very large datasets. Her other research interests lie in machine learning and neuroimaging techniques to understand the risk factors of developing neurodevelopmental disorders before the onset of the diseases, using large-scale datasets. She was recently awarded the 2020 Brain and Behavior Research Foundation Young Investigator Award, where she explores the effects of prenatal drug exposure in the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study and its possible link to emerging psychosis in adolescence. She was also the recipient of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Program for Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Grant Award.
