Hector completed his PhD at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2020 working in the lab of Dr. Marian Berryhill. His dissertation researched focused on investigating the time course of recovery and degree of rehabilitation from concussion using behavioral, neuropsychological, electroencephalogram, and resting state fMRI approaches. As a graduate student, Hector, was awarded a NIH Blueprint Diversity-Specialized Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Advancement in Neuroscience (D-SPAN) Award F99/K00. Hector recently joined the Psychiatry Neuroimaging Lab (PNL) as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working with Prof. Martha Shenton and Dr. Sylvain Bouix to complete the research proposed in his K00 award. At the PNL, Hector will be investigating the cognitive and neural consequences of repetitive head impacts using data from the DIAGNOSE-CTE Project.
