Tashrif Billah has an interdisciplinary background in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering. He obtained an MS degree from Columbia University, New York where he focused on Computer Science and Mathematics. There, his education was completely funded through Graduate Scholarship. During his MS, he worked on projects related to object detection in an image and X-ray image reconstruction algorithms.

Previously, he graduated with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka. His research interests lie in the areas of image processing, computer vision, and machine learning. His recent work on distraction recognition of a driver has been published in a noted IEEE journal. He joined the Psychiatry Neuroimaging Laboratory in May 2018 as a Research Engineer. He is assisting with automated pipeline development for magnetic resonance image analysis and improvement upon existing algorithms. He collaborates with psychiatrists, neuroscientists, computer scientists, and biomedical engineers in the lab to use his software experience to contribute to their research goals.
