Research
Johanna holds a B.Sc. in psychology, an M.D., and a Ph.D. In 2019 she joined the Psychiatry Neuroimaging Laboratory as a postdoctoral research fellow under the supervision of Prof. Marek Kubicki. She became an instructor in 2021. Her research interests lie in applying advanced neuroimaging methods, statistical modeling, and translational approaches to understand the structure of the human brain and its role in psychiatric disorders, especially psychosis. Specifically, she is interested in the interaction of brain structure, physical health, and cognition and the effect of sex, age, and environment on this interaction. Her most recent projects use proteomics and neuroimaging to explore the relationship between cellular senescence, physical health, and brain health in psychosis. In addition, she is working on several projects exploring risk factors for mental disorders, including sleep and social media use.
