Sinead received her PhD from Trinity College Dublin in 2014. Her thesis focused on neuroimaging, genetics of schizophrenia, and investigating the effects of schizophrenia genome-wide associated variants on brain white matter microstructure. Following the completion of her PhD, Sinead spent two years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the ENIGMA Center of Excellence, University of Southern California, under the supervision of Prof. Paul Thompson. At USC, she had a leading role in the ENIGMA consortium. Sinead currently leads the ENIGMA-Schizophrenia and Major Depression DTI groups, comprised of 50 international scanning sites. Sinead joined the PNL in December 2016. Her research interests include DTI and connectomics in the early stages of schizophrenia and psychosis.
